People look around at the horrible state this world is in and just shake their heads. “If God made the world and this is it, why would I believe in a God like that?” Andy follows my blog and asked me some hard questions. Maybe you want to hear the answers to this one too?
Andy stated his convictions quite clearly. “The biblical God is incredibly inhumane…where sentient beings were placed in tremendous suffering. Why would I want to follow a God like that?”
How would you answer his logic? I think the answer to that question lies in another question!
Why does the modern world believe Satan doesn’t exist and that God is to blame for all the suffering and evil we see in our world? Think of it. Every good story has a hero and the bad guy in conflict! You know, the contest between good and evil. It’s the same in the epic story of human evolution on our planet. And in our story, clearly the antagonist is Satan, he’s the dark Darth Vader! And if that is the case, then we don’t need to blame God!
- Have you ever asked what Jesus is supposed to have saved us FROM? I mean, if God is ruling our world right now, why do we need a saviour? Who do we need to be saved from? Yet, the story says a price was paid and a ransom was met.
Did you know there’s over 80 references in the Bible that speak of Satan’s existence? One verse tells us he’s the “god of this age blinding our minds! ”This insidious “Darth Vader” sublimely intervenes in our world even to the extent of ruling our airwaves – think of mass media and what’s projected into our living rooms today. That doesn’t surprise me! This invisible sinister character behind the scenes plays a huge part! Jesus paid the ransom with physical life to free us from this oppression. It was paid to the despicable god ruling our planet.
“…the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.” Ephesians 2:1-3
Andy asked how we justify a God who “placed us in a world of tremendous suffering?” Who “allows” such evil atrocities to happen?
But where’s our accountability? God placed us in paradise! Look at the theme to the creation story in the Garden of Eden. The antagonist was the Serpent. Adam and Eve CHOSE to believe Satan over God! They decided to choose for themselves what was right and what was wrong. Well, “We can’t be blamed for our first ancestor’s choices,” you say. But aren’t we still doing that? Deciding for ourself what’s right and what’s wrong? On a personal and on an oh-so-grand global scale. Humanity has created this mess by our choices.
- Seduced by our desire for god-like power; our GREED, our perceived need for power, influence, and money corrupts every form of government and every nation. No surprise then that we have chaos, and every form of tragedy occurring in our world.
He asked, “how can a loving God send us to an eternal fiery hell for our sins.”
- God doesn’t! Check out the New Testament word hell in a Greek lexicon and you’ll see the root word comes from gehenna, or Valley of Ge Hinnom. Today it’s just a deep ravine outside of Jerusalem, but at the time of Jesus Christ there were always fires burning the funeral pyres, city sewage, and all other manner of disgusting garbage. Centuries earlier, the believers in the evil ancient god Molech used to continually make infant and child sacrifices. That’s why gehenna (or hell) had the reputation for eternal suffering. That’s why Jesus used the word gehenna to describe death and destruction because everyone then knew of this valley.
- But eternal suffering for us? Impossible! We CAN NOT suffer eternally in hell fire because we don’t have an eternal life to do so. We weren’t given this gift in the garden. So we die.
- Hey, you know why we exiled from the garden paradise in the first place? Because in our undisciplined spiritual state, God couldn’t let us take fruit from the other tree, the Tree of Life, and allow us to live forever. Think what destructive anguish we could cause of galactic proportions if humans had eternal life right now.
So let’s look at the bigger picture. If there is no antagonist to our story, if this world of ours represents all God can do for us, then Andy is right. We definitely should not worship that god. But it’s not the whole story.
Our human race doesn’t live under the government of god yet! THAT IS THE GREAT DECEPTION….

Image from Chapter 7, The Celestial Proposal
We are deceived. And think what character in the narrative might be behind this deception?
God has been proposing an alliance between humanity and a celestial kingdom in heaven ever since we were created. The Celestial Proposal, the grand blueprint was all laid out in the original design.
Like small children, he gave us laws in the old testament.
Like teenagers, he gives us choice in the New Testament.
Now as adults, we’re supposed to be led by Spirit and write the laws of his kingdom in our hearts.
When we accept the terms of this proposed alliance, human-kind can take back ownership of our world from Satan and establish a paradise on Earth.
The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. Revelation 12:9
God is waiting for the human race to spiritually mature and become worthy of eternal citizenship! That’s why we align ourselves with the basic governing statues of God, loving his ways with all our hearts, loving others as ourselves. We pray fervently, “your kingdom come, your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”
Because we sure don’t have it yet. That’s the whole story. We grid the planet with light, with love, hungry for the kingdom of God and we try to manifest it into reality. There are many others who know the real story in every country on the globe. We’ve put the same pieces together and found the only logical path that makes sense.
That’s what makes me want to make war on our real enemy and it’s not God. Join us and dare to be a spiritual warrior. Are you in?
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. NIVBible 2 Corinthians 4:4 When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. Revelation 12:13 NIV Bible
