Hi again!

Have you ever been given a clear strong word in your heart or maybe in your conscience? Strange words that just pop into your head but they aren’t your words? It happened to me! So I’ve been busy in this cool late Spring pounding away on my keyboard, formatting my soon-to-be-released first book in The Spirit Quest series. It’s titled INNOCENCE DERAILED: based on a true story!

This emotional page-turner is a heart-breaking, coming-of-age story set in the rich tapestry of nature. It explores the hurt and wonder of first love and the raw and real experiences of becoming a woman. It also describes the beginning events when I felt pursued by God’s Spirit in such an incredible way.

And yes, the novel is raw and real, my own story! But hey, I always said I’m an open book! Ha! If you’ve wondered how I came to my outside-the-box Spiritual/Christian perspectives, this book tells all and you’re the first readers to get a peek preview!

(From the novel: INNOCENCE DERAILED, Chapter One, First Cravings of the Heart):

A sign propped up in a grimy window read Office of the Salvation Army.

Ha! That’s ironic, Armies don’t save people. The soldiers drafted to fight in Vietnam are trained to kill. That thought bothered Kate because it was 1966 and the war had been escalating for years.

She stopped dead in her tracks as the weathered door of the office flew open and a strange young woman burst out onto the sidewalk. She glowed with poise and glided past with an oh-so-buoyant smile.

Kate absorbed the joy and the powerful aura radiating from the woman, but wondered where it came from? The young woman had on a simple T-shirt, dark jeans, scuffed boots, but worn with such artistic flair. No timidity in her presence, just bold in spirit, like she walked the earth on a glorious mission.

Her strangeness intrigued Kate in a tingling awareness. Where does she get that boldness and confidence? Because what this girl has – is what I want.

As if in response to her thoughts, clear and simple words whispered into Kate’s conscience as the young woman disappeared down the street.”

~~AN~~INVITATION~~EXTENDS~~TO~~YOU~~

Kate stood on the sidewalk and looked around. No one else was nearby, so who had spoken? Had the woman issued an invitation to her …subliminally? I had seemed so real. She shook her head to clear the strange thoughts but then had to backtrack fast...

……………..*……………..

That strange encounter was the first time Spirit talked to me! It got me to thinking strange things. Jesus promised to send back the Holy Spirit to us after he returned to heaven to guide us!

Maybe our conscience is the portal to download words from God?

"But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you." John 16:12-14 NIV Bible

In my turbulent, young hippie years, I started tuning in to hear what a higher power might be saying to me . But this was the first encounter, the first invitation to connect to God’s plan for my spiritual development.

I found out you don’t have to be ‘religious’ to have it happen to you.

Spirit might be talking to you in your everyday life already if you stop and listen! With whispers, with delightful coincidences – Spirit wants to gently guide you in the choices you have to make, and empower you with love!

Has it happened to you? I would love to compare my experiences to yours!

Stone slab where Jesus' body was lain

Jane Catherine Rozek in Jerusalem, 2016

I thought I knew the Easter story until I prayed and sobbed on the stone slab that Jesus’ body once stretched out on. Until I read the black and white details in the first report of his resurrection… It was a woman – who first saw Jesus Christ alive after his crucifixion on the cross! Can you visualize it? I can, because we
also took this picture of the burial caves near the old city of Jerusalem! Continue reading

When did it all start, her search for truth, for a faith she could use as a source of power? Kate’s mind skimmed back in time, the parts she endured, the parts she treasured, all so different, each block a space where she had grown spiritually.

There was the first day, back in 1968 when Spirit began to manifest its presence into her being. And after that, came a love so strong, she still carries the embers of it in the back of her heart. It was the beginning of the immeasurable expanse of intensity for what was to come…

I’m so excited about my next book being published! This is the beginning of my memoir series! Except that I’ve written it in third-person because my first draft sounded so egotistic when writing, “I did this and I did that…” Besides, I’m not that young person anymore.

Kate is the girl who survived her coming-of-age trials and dangerous adventures in this novel!

Not that I was so unique, just a typical teen who fell in love, got dumped, and turned hippie in the age of rebellion. But it’s more than all that. THIS is my story of how God and I connected.

The wonder of it…

is that the same things could have/or could be… happening to you!

Do you remember the first time you fell in love? The intensity to every touch? The quivering anxiety to the unfolding events? The beautiful gift of belonging to each other?

Was the first time good for you? Did it last? Share in the comments, please!

Here’s the song that fits my memories of first love from a young man, and then from God himself…

I hope this song makes your eyes misty! Thanks so much for hanging in there with me. I promise to write more often to share details about the new book coming out soon!

THE VALENTINE KEY

Do you ever feel like you don’t really know how to love? After all my decades of living and learning, I still don’t know how to love the right way. I blow it often. I think my communication and writing skills are better than most, and my knowledge of spiritual matters are unique. I’ve even written a book on faith as a power to activate. And I sacrifice for others and give to charities.

But does that please God? Am l more lovable? Here’s what God brought into my mind this morning:

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 NIV Bible
A Heart Rock I Found in the Middle of the River/Photographer:Sean Pegg
So yes, I am humbled… because I’m still learning ‘how to love’. Thankfully, God gives us a lifetime for that very purpose because it’s the most important godly trait there is. God is LOVE.

How do I learn the lessens for loving others and myself too? I practice (ad practice) the sacred instructions in the manual for living life!

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:3-7 NIV

I’ve been away for the month of January. Today, I want to thank all my followers, friends and family for the love they have shown me. I wish you all a fantastic warm and wonderful Valentine’s Day (a week, a month, and a year of loving)!

“What has Christmas got to do with Petra?” you ask. The Three Wise Men who came from the East quite likely took this same caravan road in search of a unique child born to be a King! But these are tourists in the photo! I took this picture a few years ago when we visited Petra in Jordan.

"But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High." Luke 1:30-31

The man had an otherworldly appearance and he asked me,

“Do you know what this Christmas season is really all about?”

“Of course I do,” I said because I had grown up attending a church.

“Ah… but have you ever viewed the birth of God’s son from heaven’s point of view?

Here’s the big Christmas question! If young Mary was still a virgin, HOW did she get pregnant and give birth to Jesus Christ? I discovered logical reasons for how it occurred and I’m definitely in awe of her courage. Mary gives us one of the great examples of real faith in action. Let me quote from Chapter Four, in The Celestial Proposal:

It begins with an angelic being, which appeared and talked to Mary, an innocent, young Jewish woman. She must have been a brave person, for she encountered metaphysical things! The angel spoke to her:

“Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.” (Luke 1:30–31)

Remember, the name Jesus means “God saves with metaphysical power.” From birth, Jesus was named for his specific purpose in life. The angel also told Mary:

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne...his kingdom will never end. (Luke 1:32–33)

This was a fantastic prediction! In Mary’s human curiosity and practicality, some questions naturally came to mind:

“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God... Nothing is impossible with God.” (Luke 1:34–35, 37)

The real marvel of this story is Mary’s courage and faith to believe what this strange, shining celestial being told her. She believed so much in this paranormal, mystical experience that she was willing to let some kind of sacred Spirit presence “come upon” and “overshadow” her. We are told, “what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 1:20). I can’t help but wonder just what kind of encounter and connection that was for her!

Mary also had to consider the consequences of getting pregnant, if this did really take place. She was already engaged to a young man named Joseph. How was she going to explain to him and convince him what had happened? She also ran a great risk of being cast out of her strict Jewish society. Unwed pregnant girls were sometimes stoned to death in her culture. But Mary’s faith and allegiance toward her very personal God was greater than all other qualms and concerns. Her belief system was not a social religion but an exciting, individual sort of spirituality! Ultimately she believed in the words of a celestial messenger.

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.” Then the angel left her. (Luke 1:38)

Until the twentieth century, when

ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION

and test-tube babies became a reality, the birth of Jesus from a virgin was an even harder concept to grasp. If Mary did not get pregnant by having intercourse with a human man, how did she become pregnant? If we accept the words from the Bible in a literal sense, she must have been somehow artificially inseminated by a celestial being from another world and a different dimension of existence.

Jesus Christ was not just filled with a godly spirit but was conceived by Spirit; he was actually fathered by a “Most High” otherworldly entity (Matthew 1:20). Having this living, all-powerful celestial God Source as a kind of genetic father is what made Jesus unique from all other human beings.

So yes! That’s why Jesus could do miracles; heal the sick, raise the dead, walk on water. He wasn’t just human, his Father was…in heaven. And when I think of Jesus having some combination of human and extraterrestrial genetics, it makes it so much more real to me! And more hopeful for the future! Merry Christmas, everyone!

The Celestial Proposal/Chapter 2

“Who is the Jesus that Western religions venerate so much? What was he really? Most agree he was a man who existed in flesh and blood in and around Jerusalem at the beginning of the first century AD. He came to be known to humanity as Jesus Christ.”1

I wondered about what was behind the Christmas story for many years. Sure, I celebrated it, exchanged presents, sang carols, even danced around the Christmas tree. But why the big deal about this Jesus?

Now 50% off, only $7.34 for Christmas! $4.99 on Kindle!

I want to share some quotes from my book that might answer your questions and enrich this year’s holiday season for you. Simply put, Christmas means the mass or celebration of Christ. Here are some other interesting word definitions!

Jesus is a unique word; it literally means “God saves.”

The word Christ means “the one anointed with power, or one touched with a supernatural ability.” ***Christ was not Jesus’s last name but a reference to his power!

So then, the phrase Jesus Christ literally means “God saves with metaphysical power.” The very meaning of his name is even fascinating.

The Celestial Proposal/Chapter 4

“You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. John 3:23 NIV

Jesus Christ clearly stated that he was “not of this world”… but clothed with metaphysical presence and power. He is the real-life superhero of our science-fiction thriller…

Therefore, by extension, a Christian (one who follows Christ) has to believe in metaphysical power.

Jesus Christ made some outrageous claims regarding his connection to the celestial species. He claimed to be from God, and he performed astonishing miracles, but he certainly didn’t physically appear to be a god. If Jesus was a God-being, how did he put on flesh and become human? He claimed he would live again after he died, but how does a human put on immortality?

…Jesus’s followers seemed to realize exactly what he was and called him the “Son of God” (Matthew 3:17). This term is used forty times in the books of the New Testament. Jesus spoke with humility, yet claimed God as his real father.

1The Celestial Proposal: Our Invitation to Join the God Kind, Chapter 4 The Fusion of Human and God Being, pg. 57-59.
Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me.” (John 8:54)

What was this enigma of a man, actually? Did the celestial God Source really have a part human, physical son? Born from a virgin mother, Mary? Was he really “not of this world” but from above in the heavens? And if heaven is out in space, what does that make him, extraterrestrial – outside of earth? How could that even be possible? My next post will show you!
