Hi again!

Have you ever been given a clear strong word in your heart or maybe in your conscience? Strange words that just pop into your head but they aren’t your words? It happened to me! So I’ve been busy in this cool late Spring pounding away on my keyboard, formatting my soon-to-be-released first book in The Spirit Quest series. It’s titled INNOCENCE DERAILED: based on a true story!

This emotional page-turner is a heart-breaking, coming-of-age story set in the rich tapestry of nature. It explores the hurt and wonder of first love and the raw and real experiences of becoming a woman. It also describes the beginning events when I felt pursued by God’s Spirit in such an incredible way.

And yes, the novel is raw and real, my own story! But hey, I always said I’m an open book! Ha! If you’ve wondered how I came to my outside-the-box Spiritual/Christian perspectives, this book tells all and you’re the first readers to get a peek preview!

(From the novel: INNOCENCE DERAILED, Chapter One, First Cravings of the Heart):

“A sign propped up in a grimy window read Office of the Salvation Army. 

Ha! That’s ironic, Armies don’t save people. The soldiers drafted to fight in Vietnam are trained to kill. That thought bothered Kate because it was 1966 and the war had been escalating for years. 

She stopped dead in her tracks as the weathered door of the office flew open and a strange young woman burst out onto the sidewalk. She glowed with poise and glided past with an oh-so-buoyant smile.

Kate absorbed the joy and the powerful aura radiating from the woman, but wondered where it came from? The young woman had on a simple T-shirt, dark jeans, scuffed boots, but worn with such artistic flair. No timidity in her presence, just bold in spirit, like she walked the earth on a glorious mission. 

Her strangeness intrigued Kate in a tingling awareness. Where does she get that boldness and confidence? Because what this girl has – is what I want.

As if in response to her thoughts, clear and simple words whispered into Kate’s conscience as the young woman disappeared down the street.”

Kate stood on the sidewalk and looked around. No one else was nearby, so who had spoken? Had the woman issued an invitation to her …subliminally? I had seemed so real. She shook her head to clear the strange thoughts but then had to backtrack fast...

That strange encounter was the first time Spirit talked to me! It got me to thinking strange things. Jesus promised to send back the Holy Spirit to us after he returned to heaven to guide us!

Maybe our conscience is the portal to download words from God?

"But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you." John 16:12-14 NIV Bible

In my turbulent, young hippie years, I started tuning in to hear what a higher power might be saying to me . But this was the first encounter, the first invitation to connect to God’s plan for my spiritual development.

I found out you don’t have to be ‘religious’ to have it happen to you.

Spirit might be talking to you in your everyday life already if you stop and listen! With whispers, with delightful coincidences – Spirit wants to gently guide you in the choices you have to make, and empower you with love!
