DO YOU HAVE FAITH AND STILL DOUBT? Part 4

I’m wrestling with some troubling thoughts right now. A grey limbo-land has enveloped my mind in negative self-talk. I doubt and…

when I have doubt, I can’t go forward with any confidence. I’m only dancing in the fog, wearing myself out by going every which way. Nothing gets created by my own efforts or energies because doubt and faith don’t mix. Either you have faith or you don’t.

“DOUBT AND FAITH ARE ANTONYMS!”

Once I stood in thick fog on  Fawnie Dome, a mountain top near our old ranch. It was so foggy we couldn’t even see each other a few yards away. We had to stay near our vehicle so that we didn’t get lost in it. When doubt causes me to lose faith now, I wait…until the dark mist clears and the sunlight pours down again.

Great men from every culture knew this, perhaps instinctively. Recently, I ran across this same concept in the words of 18th century’s Ponca Chief White Eagle. He knew how to tap into the power to overcome fear, and manifest the courage to do what had to be done.

Go Forward With Courage
When you are in doubt, be still, and wait. When doubt no longer exists for you then go forward with courage.
So long as mists envelop you, be still. Be still until the sunlight pours through and dispels the mists
as it surely will. Then act with courage.  >Ponca Chief White Eagle   

That’s what I need! I need sunshine to pour over me and clear the mist. Sunlight shines down from above and when it does, it beckons me out into a beautiful spiritual world. The way out of the dark is already written in our hearts and echoes out from our conscience. We find it when we have love for our God and have love for each other.

So I ask God for the things I need, and for the strength to live by godly celestial standards. I know the way I want to live but sometimes it takes courage to put my faith in God and NOT DOUBT. Where should I go from here? I dive into the book I’ve written and here’s what I get out of it today!

“We doubt because we don’t trust the unknown. We trust the world because we think we know how it works; it’s familiar. The answer then is really to know who the God Source is so we can totally trust him. As we get to know his integrity, his honor, and his unfailing love for us, our belief in God’s ultimate authority over all things will become consistent and strong. Then our faith can override what we see in the natural world.” 

The trick is to connect with the Power higher than we are. I can we go forward with conviction and courage then!¹

Breathe in, breathe out, connect, stand tall….
