“Who is the Jesus that Western religions venerate so much? What was he really? Most agree he was a man who existed in flesh and blood in and around Jerusalem at the beginning of the first century AD. He came to be known to humanity as Jesus Christ.”1
I wondered about what was behind the Christmas story for many years. Sure, I celebrated it, exchanged presents, sang carols, even danced around the Christmas tree. But why the big deal about this Jesus?
I want to share some quotes from my book that might answer your questions and enrich this year’s holiday season for you. Simply put, Christmas means the mass or celebration of Christ. Here are some other interesting word definitions!
Jesus is a unique word; it literally means “God saves.”
The word Christ means “the one anointed with power, or one touched with a supernatural ability.” ***Christ was not Jesus’s last name but a reference to his power!
So then, the phrase Jesus Christ literally means “God saves with metaphysical power.” The very meaning of his name is even fascinating.

“You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. John 3:23 NIV
Jesus Christ clearly stated that he was “not of this world”… but clothed with metaphysical presence and power. He is the real-life superhero of our science-fiction thriller…
Therefore, by extension, a Christian (one who follows Christ) has to believe in metaphysical power.
Jesus Christ made some outrageous claims regarding his connection to the celestial species. He claimed to be from God, and he performed astonishing miracles, but he certainly didn’t physically appear to be a god. If Jesus was a God-being, how did he put on flesh and become human? He claimed he would live again after he died, but how does a human put on immortality?
…Jesus’s followers seemed to realize exactly what he was and called him the “Son of God” (Matthew 3:17). This term is used forty times in the books of the New Testament. Jesus spoke with humility, yet claimed God as his real father.
1The Celestial Proposal: Our Invitation to Join the God Kind, Chapter 4 The Fusion of Human and God Being, pg. 57-59.
Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me.” (John 8:54)
What was this enigma of a man, actually? Did the celestial God Source really have a part human, physical son? Born from a virgin mother, Mary? Was he really “not of this world” but from above in the heavens? And if heaven is out in space, what does that make him, extraterrestrial – outside of earth? How could that even be possible? My next post will show you!
