THE EARTH IS A MESS SO WHAT IS GOD WAITING FOR?

There’s so much violence and hatred. When is it enough? Why doesn’t God come down and save us from the misery that millions are experiencing? This question was hurled at me during my “X” Zone Radio interview with Rob McConnell.

….

hebrew word for violence is Hamas

Now after some inspired thought, I think I have the answer.

To fix the problem God has to fix us! We are the problem. Our arrogance and greed surges up through the cracks of the geo-political divisions of our planet. Violence always erupts at the pressure points. The real problem comes from our insidious greed for power, a gangrene of our own making.

So we’ve asked God for help but then, we’re not listening to Him. He’s offered to help a long time ago. He sent prophets and great messengers to all the different faiths. Kindness, gentleness, respect, love toward your neighbor, care for the planet, honor to God; we can even all agree on these moral principles. Well, they’re the celestial standards required to bring heaven onto earth. An alliance, from a celestial kingdom and government, has already been presented to us to create peace and harmony for all humanity. It’s real, it’s there, standing at our threshold.

“But nobody’s going to tell us what to do”, we say with belligerence.  We’re like spiritual toddlers petulantly pushing God’s instructions aside and saying, “No, I want to do it myself.” Like teenagers, we think we have all the answers. We act like spoiled children in the western world, and bullies on the playground of our planet. In our immaturity, we think we can get paradise for ourselves without the responsibility of citizenship in the cosmos.

We choose for ourselves what’s right and wrong. Or worse, we decide there is no right and wrong. Well, it isn’t working.

So yes, God is waiting. I guess He could kill us all off and let the animals roam free. But no, God loves us; He just hates how we act. He’s waiting for us to accept the conditions to the alliance he proposed and to play the Game of Life on our planet by his rules. He’s waiting for us to take his advice, use his laws and learn how to love each other. After all, H

e designed us to be gods on Earth– and that’s what we can be IF we will just hurry up…and spiritually – grow up.

Straight from the big black book:
"Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth...." (Luke 11:2, KJV Bible)

[1]Hamas is an Arabic acronym for “Harakat al-Muqawamah al-Islamiyya,” which means “The Islamic Resistance Movement.” How strange though that “Hamas” is also an Arabic word that means “zeal” and an old Hebrew word meaning “violence, cruelty, and injustice”.

  1. why do babies die…..why are the rains being withheld in the poor countries so that they cannot be fed…why are they not being taught that almost everything is edible…most things like snakes and squirrels even spiders…cooked properly….why are the super rich starving the poor all because of narcissism….you can stop the rain with haarp in alaska

    1. If God is good and loving why do these bad things happen? It is because God is NOT ruling our planet right now. Of course God can’t be in charge here yet. Look at the mess we humans are in. Satan (or whatever name you give this dark negative spirit) is ruler of the air – and that is earth’s atmosphere. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians+2:2&version=MEV
So the Christian prayer makes sense then. We pray “your kingdom come, your will be done – on earth as it is in heaven.” We follow moral celestial laws trying to establish His kingdom on our planet. We align ourselves with goodness, kindness, love. Life is a process to learn how to resist evil, how to “love your neighbor as yourself.” This way of living would truly change the governments in every nation and that would create paradise on our planet!

    1. Hi Iwer, I had to shorten what you wrote but most of it is here. I really like when someone boldly writes in! Yes, religion can be the problem especially when it’s exclusive, judging everyone else’s beliefs as inferior. Then I agree, it’s a type of corporate narcissism. I think each individual should search for truth like you are doing regardless of what belief system they started with. Thanks for the info cause I’ll still be doing that. We have to look at the big picture.

Maybe all religions have some truth but their human organizations are, like you say, prone to narcissistic self-centered egotism. That’s what caused the Crusades and now the Islamic terrorists.

But to begin with, Christianity was outside of the temples of religion. The two great laws Jesus Christ gave to us have profound merit:
Love God with all your heart and might.
      Love your neighbor as yourself.

If we can conceive of a civilization living with just these two laws, our world would be a wonderful place. Jesus did not have any narcissism to his nature. He came in humble form and left that way too. He said he existed before and would return to his Father in heaven after he died. He claimed to be not from our world, so that makes him out of this world! That’s exciting with humanity’s quest for extraterrestrial intelligence. The plot is deeper and better!

My best regards to you. I too, know about abusive relationships. I hope you find your answers and a place of joy to live in.

  2. Actually religion is the problem….everyone has to be right in their own mind. You have humans who are mentally and physically abusive which includes narcissism (I know, I have a failing marriage to one. I have asked God to change my husband but instead he got worse. The human race has so many mental disorders its unbelieveable….narcissism is one biggie.
God will not help you if you’re so stubborn you cannot see truth from lies…including the so called jesus cult. i started questioning my own religion a while back and got a severe broken heart in the process… the same goes for all the other religions if you have to force your beliefs on others this makes you narcissistic and you are doomed to repeat history.
i think christianity has a lot to answer for including some bleeding skeletons in a very big catacomb

but not just picking on christianity …..other religions such as islam has a few skeletons too..until they can accept that they may not be right and stop being narcissistic toward themselves and others…we will always be at war and this planet will never stop ceasing its anger…narcissism isrunning loose like a wild teenager having a fit because it didnt get an iphone7

  3. Indeed Jane, you have it. We’re too self absorbed to listen deeply. Long ago I was waiting at a busy city center, when I heard a light beautiful bird song. I’ve always had acute hearing; I looked around noticing no one rushing busily by had heard it. Most habits are; to be too busy, to notice what is quiet. I guess this is how adults can hold simple views so easily; they don’t take time to look a little more deeply. God save us!
It’s true; perhaps our risks are greater now because of our own devices; but suffering is no greater now than throughout most of “civilizations” history. Many suffer, yet it is suggested; we were given a garden.
Fixing our mess, is our job to do. This is how children mature, by learning to be responsible for our actions. Growing up is what we are here for. Getting along, playing nice. Are we like babies crying to Mom and Dad? Clean up my mess? That won’t happen, clearly it’s our responsibility, to learn to do “on earth, as it is in heaven”. We’re here to get it right or die trying. As with most things, it’s always some of both.
A godly realm would not be confined by time/space, so such a realm would not be so concerned with temporal material forms as we are. Never the less due to it’s fragile fleeting nature, life is so very precious; there is a high price to pay for it. We should not waste our opportunity here to do good. Finally if there is God; where can God not be present? What power can exclude God? Our own blindness? No, it is that we are so blind we don’t see the task before us. We exclude ourselves from the god presence. Until we awaken awareness, to see what is true, we remain truly lost.
