Everyone seems to be waiting for some new wave of Spirit to rain down and make faith relevant to young believers. But hey, you in the pulpit, look around! It’s already happening…. 

Younger generations now view the cosmos on a grand scale and see the vast possibilities of an Infinite Intelligence in the very design of it. They definitely believe in some sort of Higher Power and they want the ability to tap into an inner power. But they sure don’t see the point of going to church. They can’t see how it’s relevant to real life. Why are churches so old-school traditional?

It’s because Christianity hasn’t yet upgraded into 21st Century terminology! The 2.1 version is waiting to be downloaded into the doctrinal foundations of your church! Because really, telling people to “give your heart to Jesus and he will save you,” just doesn’t work anymore in our culture. Anyone under 40 will probably ask, “Who is this Jesus you’re talking about? And what’s he going to save me from?”

So, to connect with young people who hunger for the Truth/Spirit, we have to say it differently. That old religious jargon just turns people off but doesn’t God remain the same no matter what words you use? Here are 10 new terms to consider using. Download and integrate them into your communication and you’ll still be spreading the good news/gospel!

Spirituality means Religion

Faith means Belief system

God means Source, Higher Power, Universal Conscience

God the Father means Our Creator

Jesus means The Ambassador from Outer Space

Christ means Anointed with metaphysical power (It’s not Jesus’s last name!)

Saviour means Rescuer

Immaculate conception means Artificial insemination

Crucifixion means Execution

Heaven means Outer Space

Angels mean Energy Beings

Demons mean Dark forces

Kingdom of God means Government of Higher Beings

Sin means Unloving actions

Evil means Immoral

Resurrection means reincarnation into Spirit

Love…still means Love – This one hasn’t changed a bit!

So I hope your spirituality is based on a strong belief system in the Source of Infinite Intelligence. I hope you have interfaced with the Ambassador sent to earth from outer space who is proposing an alliance with the Galactic Government of Higher Beings. On earth as it is in heaven; as above so below…That’s who I’m voting for!
