
Love never fails? Bah! Sometimes it fails miserably. The word itself is just so overused we donโt recognize the real thing.
Don’t think the nature of love isnโt powerful enough โ because love can cut a swath like a laser beam through the darkest of hearts.
We make love. We fall into love. We fall out of it. We try to make it happen. We crave it, we buy it, we force it, and sometimes we fake it. Yet love is more than negotiated pleasure; โIโll give you this if you give me that.โ Love is not a commodity to be exchanged like money. Love is not a thing at all!

Love fails because we donโt know how to activate it. REAL LOVE is an action. Itโs a verb. To love someone or something is to manifest a source of power strong enough to change reality for the better. Because love benefits the giver and the receiver.
In order to love others (or anything) with god-like power one has to think differently. Here’s how:
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirableโif anything is excellent or praiseworthyโthink about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in meโput it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippeans 4:8-9
That is the way God thinks! A mother with her first child thinks about these things. A groom watching his bride walk up the aisle thinks about these things. The elderly couple gazing into each otherโs eyes over the hospital bed, they think about such things.
The dedicated Olympic athlete gasping for breath at the finish line, he thinks these same things. The farmer sowing his fields and looking out over the rich soil and blue sky, he thinks these same things. The head violinist in the orchestra draws his bow lovingly across that last note, heโs thinking these same things.
Because yes, love is all around us. It exudes from those who know how to activate it, to create beautiful things with it!
God looked down on the human beings on our planet and despite all the garbage and crap going on, he saw these same things in the human species.
He saw whatโs true, noble and right about us.
He saw our pure, lovely, and admirable traits.
He found all those things worthy of praise. And he loved us.
God loved us enough to commission his Son to enter our earthly realm to rescue usโฆto save us from ourselves.
โฆGod so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NIV Bible
