The “Christian vote” is a hot topic in the upcoming elections.

If you think of yourself as a Democrat, a Republican, or a Canadian Conservative, or a Liberal; remember as Christians we don’t follow any party line. We follow God! Our God belongs to no political party. Even Jesus didn’t play around in temple politics.

So who is the best man or woman to vote for? God tells us how to judge that! We decide on the best candidate by the FRUITS they produce!
These godly traits are what we look for in the candidates we want to elect. Watch how they ACT not what they say.

But the Spirit produces the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control... Galatians 5:19-26 NCV Bible

Those who are truly wise and understanding will show it with a gentleness that comes from experience and maturity. I love the plain and clear analogy in these common-sense verses!

Are there those among you who are truly wise and understanding? Then they should show it by living right and doing good things with a gentleness that comes from wisdom. But if you are selfish and have bitter jealousy in your hearts, do not brag. Your bragging is a lie that hides the truth. That kind of “wisdom” does not come from God but from the world. It is not spiritual; it is from the devil. James 3:13-18 NCV Bible

So there you go. The solution is to vote for the candidate that has the most honesty and integrity! “By their fruit, you shall know them,” NOT by what they say in front of a camera. Don’t be ‘religious’ about it, be deeply spiritual, led by the Spirit Jesus sent back into the world!
