“From my heart to yours!”

NEWS BLAST:
I’m listening to the sound of the rain on a tin roof of a vacation home. We are staying on a small island off the coast of Nanaimo, BC. and it’s been steadily raining for 3 days! Yet it brings me back to my roots, my old log cabin in the backwoods. When I light the wood stove in the mornings, I gaze out over the ocean water where sea lions feed off the Salmon Chum running through the narrows. Here’s a picture of the sunrise:
This solitude is perfect for reminiscing over past decades of wilderness living! But I want to talk to you about the wilderness. Because it’s not just about a forest of TREES. It’s the seasons of darkness, the troubles you have, the hard knocks you endure in your life.
Here’s a question for you:
When life breaks you apart—do you find despair… or do you sense something deeper? What if the hard seasons of your life are perhaps only the beginning of your spiritual maturity? I think this is true, at least for me. It’s in those times we reach out for higher power. That’s why I had to write my life story, to share what I had learned. And through all the hardships…what I have gained!
