Rich girl

Those who know me know this:

I’ve been poor and I’ve been rich, but I don’t think… there’s much difference.

You still get hurt, you still get used, you screw up, you still get confused.

At first you might have a little more fun in the sun,

with the money you’ve earned or the funds you’ve won,

but you can be just as happy or just as sad,

No matter how much money you have.

And just like before, you’ll want something more.

Happy African street kidBut why?

Because JOY is the one thing money can’t buy.

JOY is free to both you and me,

cause it comes by giving from your heart or your hand,

Whether it’s some little thing, or whether it’s grand.

You can have joy when you’re rich or poor, big or small,

It’s waiting for you inside.

That doesn’t change it at all!

ode-to-joy

Breathe it in, let it out.

In JOY, enjoy.
