Jane at Cathedral ChimneyThere ARE others like me! We’ve followed the logical path and climbed up to the summit of the mountain. We stand in the gap between religion and science and dare to see through to the Promised Land!

If you’re a Christian how do YOU reconcile the growing evidence of life outside our solar system? There’s even a new acronym for it called ETI or Extraterrestrial Intelligence. But our belief in God and alien beings are not contradictory! You just have to put the pieces of the puzzle together differently.

I used to be ridiculed for reading verses in the bible and taking them literally but with recent scientific discoveries, they NOW make more sense than ever before.

When we talk about a God in the highest of heavens, wanting to establish his Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven; then we’ve already accepted some kind of  Higher Intelligence existing out there. In today’s language, we call it outer space, or a far away galaxy. Christians have been praying about it in the Lord’s Prayer for 2000 years!

If we believe that God sent his son Jesus Christ down from heaven to every nation under heaven and then ascended back into heaven, then we believe an (off-earth), alien presence has already been on this planet!

If we make Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour we are making a personal alliance with a race of God Beings – God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, an entity called Holy Spirit, and thousands upon thousands of the angels in heaven (or outerspace).

The Bible is full of references to angels (total count of 386)! By definition, an angel is a messenger from another realm. The Virgin Mary becomes pregnant after being visited by a messenger, an Angel called Gabriel. How could a virgin give birth– except by the modern process of in vitro fertilization or at least artificial insemination!

Fotosearch_k10149770“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Luke 1:34 NIV Bible

Mary names her baby Jesus, a name that means God saves. Later he becomes known as Jesus Christ but his last name is not Christ! This word means anointed with power from on high, or having a supernatural power.

Now if Jesus Christ is the Son of God–and was born of a virgin, then Jesus had to be conceived with male sperm from a father not from earth, but a heavenly Father. So isn’t it simpler to say:  Jesus Christ was part extraterrestrial?

Hey, I’m just talking in contemporary logic here! The fact that we can use modern terminology doesn’t negate any of our Christian beliefs. The Bible still stands and instructs us how to live in joy and peace. A Twenty-First Century interpretation of Christian terminology just makes it all the more real!

At least to me. What about you?
