Did the birth of Jesus Christ introduce us to the Son of God?
Jesus said his father was a supernatural omnipotent God from the heavens, or in current lingo – from outer space. Actually, the immaculate conception sounds like our current medical procedure of artificial insemination! After all, how else can a virgin become pregnant? Virgin women can today, and Mary somehow did when an angel visited her.
“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God... “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her. Luke 1:34-38 NIV Bible
Angels visiting from heaven? What if we said energy beings from outer space? Some people will find that easier to believe. Younger generations now view the cosmos on a grand scale and see the vast possibilities of an Infinite Intelligence in the very design of our galaxy. They believe in some sort of Higher Power and they want the ability to tap into an inner power.
Christianity doesn’t seem relevant to a lot of people, because really, telling them to “give your heart to Jesus and he will save you,” just doesn’t work anymore in our culture. Anyone under 30 will probably ask, “Who is this Jesus you’re talking about? And what’s he going to save me from?”
Demons, angels, sin, kingdom, saviour, crucifixion – are old religious terms. That jargon turns people off because they don’t understand what you mean.
Maybe it’s time to upgrade our operating system with new terms for a 21st Century Christianity. Download the 2.1 version today to update the doctrinal foundations of your corporate and personal faith!
I’m being a little facetious and of course, we have to take care not to distort the truths given to us in scripture. I want to give you some revamped terms to consider because you can spread the good news/the gospel to those outside the church a little easier by using modern language. People are dropping out of churches at an alarming rate BUT they are still hungry for truth, for Christian-style spiritual enlightenment!
Heaven =Outer Space, the Cosmos
Angels =Energy Beings aligned with God
God = the Source, the Higher Power, Universal Love
God the Father = The Creator
Immaculate conception = Artificial insemination
Jesus = God in human form
Christ = Anointed with metaphysical power (It’s not his last name!)
Saviour, Redeemer = Liberator, Rescuer
Crucifixion = Execution of Jesus the Christ
Resurrection = Reincarnation into Spirit form
Spirituality = Alignment with Holy Spirit
Faith = Powerful confidence in your belief system
Demons = Dark forces
Evil = Immoral actions
Sin = Unloving actions
Kingdom of God = Government of God
Love = Aw, this still equals Love – This one hasn’t changed a bit!

I hope you base your faith on a strong belief system in the Creator, the Source of Infinite Intelligence, the source of all LOVE. I hope you interface with the Ambassador, God in the flesh sent down to earth from the cosmos, who proposes an alliance between humanity and the Celestial government of Higher Beings.
(Translation: Believe in God, the God of love, and accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour so you can be saved and inherit the kingdom!)
