I always try to find a positive perspective when hard times come. Because sometimes the hard times can be a catalyst for awesome positive changes.
I see signs of love and kindness all around during this Covid-19 pandemic, causing people to align with godly standards and model the love that Jesus Christ showed us. I’ve talked with social distancing to more neighbors walking in our community than ever before.
And when I listen to Leonard Cohen’s deep voice in this song, it gives me hope for my imperfections and our imperfect world. Tell me if it doesn’t make you smile too, just a little bit.
I would like to shine that light out from me. I want to ring the bell too. What if so many people start ringing bells that the whole world stops and listens… and changes are made toward peace, love and respect for others in all our societies? This current time is our chance to focus on what really matters.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 NIV
